Below are a group of links to some recent headlines from around the United States and the world.
They are part of an ongoing international dialog about the rights of various forms of animal life.
What responsibility do we have for the lives of our pets?
Should we be concerned with the quality of life of those animals we raise to feed the human population?

Do we have an obligation to ensure the continuation of all species on the planet?

1. I think that animals have a right to a certian extendnt if a lad rat is used to cure cancer then yes but use to for make up and such no they should use a dumbie. And if theres an animal thats becoming exctinged then yes it should be in a zoo soo people no , beacuse if its off in the wild then anyone can come along and kill it.

3. Series of Laws Toughen Animal Protection in California :

I believe animals do have rights, but not to the same extent of humans. i believe animal testing is ok if it is for a good reason such as, medical scientific or desease related situations. Cosmetic testing is definily not ok with me. Removal of animals from there natural habitat is not ok for circus and entertainment but if animals are raised that way its not safe to put them back into their natural inviorment because they will not survive due to lack of survival skills.

disagree with this artical because, whats the reason for not caging chickens? i dont have a problem with chickens in cages because i have incubated chickens two times and had chickens for pets (in cages) I guess its a personal disition though.
I also think its not right to do tests on animals. Its ok im some situations like if you want to find a cure for humans. But then again how is that gonna help us because animals might react to things differently than we do. But I think its stupid to just have experiments just to see how long an animal can go without breathing till it dies. I also think that its alright to kill animals for food but you should do it in a civilized way. And i think its wrong to kill them just to use thir nice furrs to look good, UNLESS you live somewhere in below freezing temperatures and wearing bears fur is whats gonna helo you servive and stay worm. But in all I think animals should have a right to an extent :-D
2. Ben & Jerry's to use eggs from cage-free chickens:
I dont think its HORIBLE that they keep the chickens in the cages but I think the right thing to do would be to let them run around and collect there eggs when they hatch them and let nature take its course. Rather than keeping them cooped up in a cage all the time.
3. http://www.stopanimaltests.com/f-auburn.asp
this site is basically talking about "Iams" (a dog food brand) and how they collected pregnant dogs from kennels and hunters and did experiments on the puppys by feeding it Iams and different foods. And the puppies DID die as a result. I dont think it was right, i am against testing that has no benifit to us and is just gonna hurt the animals in the end.

2. i disagree with the way the animals are killed because why should an animal be electricuted or poisoned for fashion purposes. And i think those fashion designers who kill those animals for fur are very wicked.
3.PETA Tries To Stop Cochroach Eating Contest:
i think it was a good idea that they tried to stop the cochroach eating contest. And i also think having cochroach eating contest makes no sense.

I think that animals have rights to a point. Animals have the right to live just like us. But if we are testing hair products on an animal then i don't think that is right. If we were doing research on an animal to try to cure cancer or something then yea because it is helping solve a big problem in the world. But testing hair products on an animal is not going to solve anything but the newest hair products.
I think that animals have the rights we give them. We could be cruel or kind buy t it si our desiscion. We our the contollers of earth. Though animals should have the right to live fairly and properly and not involve animals with our activities unless it is really going to benift us.
I agree with Ashley as animals can be use in lab use as long as they are not mistreated and used inhumanely
In a way, it is our right as a species to survive. Encoded in our genes is an instinct: a primal instinct to survive. If we have to kill every animal to keep our species alive, we would do it. That is how "nature" programmed us.
So, is it right to use animals for experiments? Well there is a thin line between the two. Obviously, the benefit must outweigh the negatives, such as the well-being of the animal. If we had to kill 10 mice to save 10,000,000 people, then we would do it. As long as the animal's population is not in danger, tests can be authorized.
It is also important that we do not harm animals for trivial things or personal gain.
Thus, I conclude my monologue.

I think that all animals do have rights, but not to the same extent as humans. animals should be able to be used for testing with reason as long as they are not harmed.
2.Fur flies on catwalk:
I thing that it is wrong to have to use actual animal fur when fake fur just looks basucally the same.
3. Animal rights group attacks restaurants foie gras:
Foie Gras is torture for birds because they shove a tube down their throat and forcing food down. This increases their liver many times its actual size.
