Personally I think eating food from cloned animals is perfectly fine. If you can eat the normal animal then the cloned one should be perfectly fine because its the exact replica. Yes, deffinetly I think that food that is cloned should be on the labels. I don't think it has to be in like an etire section with a glowing sign the says CLONED ANIMAL MEATS!!! but I do think it should be on the label.

I dont see the big deal about eating cloned animals. It sounds perfectly normal to me. As for labeling the packages, I dont see the purpose, as long as regular nutrition facts are there. Whats the big deal if it was cloned or not, its still considered an animal.

Heres the link--my computer refuses to hyperlink it--

Haha Anna's not first this time! Well I'll get to my point. I believe, as probably many people would agree, that eating cloned food, be it animals or plants, is fine. I do not have a problem with it. Cloned animals and plants take on the traits of the animal or plant that is being cloned meaning that it will have the same characteristics and traits. So in reality it is almost like eating a normal animal or plant. There isn't really a big difference unless people think that the cloned animal or plant is somehow different and won't like it.

About the labeling situation. I do not think that labels are needed on the packages of cloned foods. As I said up above, the cloned food is almost like real, normal, uncloned food. However, this does not mean that packages should not contain labels. I don't think it would hurt anyone to put the label on anyways. Some people like to know the origins of the food they eat but this isn't me. I think food is food and eat anything just as long as it is good and not something disgusting.

I think that it is okay to eat food from cloned animals and plants as long as there are no diseases passing from the original to the clone. Cloned food should have a label because people have mixed feelings about issues like this one and they have the right to know what their eating so they can prevent eating foods they dont want to. My link is attatched.

I have enough confidence in the FDA to fully trust their dictates. I'm assuming it's been reviewed thoroughly. If there were even the slightest problem, as with food irradiation, the liberal media would be foaming at the mouth. Since they're not, I'll assume there's absolutely nothing wrong with cloned meat.

I have one qualm before I share my opinion on labeling. People are clinging to the misconception that cloned meat will be the most prolific form, and "true" meat will be a valuable rarity. This is not the case, at least until the time comes that an efficient method which can crank out millions of clones to satisfy our nation's appetite is developed. Should that time come, there would be no need for labeling. Opportunists would take advantage of the desire for "true" meat and label their packages accordingly to attract customers who are affluent enough to care.

Cloned meats could never be successful in the supermarket, nor would fast food restaurants use it. They're trying to prove they're healthful and care about their customers. One just needs to ask himself, "Real meat or cloned?" to know why the cloned type wouldn't be attractive to shoppers.

Given the measures necessary to achieve an end in which the labling of cloned meat becomes a valid concern, and the fact that even if that end is met, it could garner interest, this debate is irrelevant.

Here's a link from the MSNBC website reporting the news that cloned meat is harmless: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7465286/

What is the big deal? It is food isn't it? I think that eating food from cloned animals and plants is perfectly fine. The food all looks and tastes the same. It functions the same way when its alive, so why not. But i DO think that there should be a label on the containers. This is partly because you do want to know what you are eating.

Personally, I think that I might be a little hesitant at fitst, but I think that I would eat food from cloned animals. I feel as if yes, it is the same animal and all..but I think it would be weird to eat something that I know wasn't "born normally" I guess you could say. However, I do think that once everyone gets accustomed to the idea, it won't be as big of a contreversy. I do however think that the labels should be marked to specify the two different types of food - cloned and natural. I think that as long as they did this, people would have no problem with it because the people who did no want to eat cloned meat could eat the natural, and those who did not care about the difference could eat either one. By clearly marking the difference, I feel that it would be an easy way for everyone to see the 'difference', and realize that in actuality..there is no difference.

Sorry I couldn't put it in a hyperlink, my computer is being a meany. :(

I'm not too sure why there are so many debates over this...I think it's fine to eat cloned meats. Sure they aren't born the same way, but they're exactly the same, genetically, to natural meats. If they aren't dangerous,or diseased, then I see no problem with it. I think that packages should be clearly labeled if they come from cloned animals or not, because, although I don't have a problem with it, there are people who don't want to eat something from a cloned animal, so those people can have a choice.

Ha ha alex yea i'm not the first. I do see a VERY big deal about this. People do not know the long term effects. The chemicals being put in it might cause major damage down the line. Besides, it will coast in the area of $20,000 to clone one thing! To me that is honestly a rip off. Who cares if one chinken has better meat than another, or if one tomato plant produces bigger tomatos. The whole thrill in going grocery shopping is to see if you will pick the better chicken. :-) I understand it will double the amount of food, but who would want to eat food you dont know what chemicals are being put in it. Since Mr. J told us about his friend working at the FDA and their idea of regualtions, that discusted me. I wouldn't trust them for cloning. This schould not be considered organic because it's NOT! How can you call something organic when chemicals were put in it! Most deffenitly the products should be marked accordingly. I would not want to be eating a cloned animal and i want to be informed if i did. That is just wrong for the FDA to with hold information to people(like me) can consider important to their health!

I think cloned food is perfectly fine prices might go up for the "true" meat but people who dont really care and trust the FDA to tell them if food is terrible and ur gonna die will buy it . this could actually start new places where they only sell cloned food . i think it would be cool and i would eat there . if there is no health issuses then i dont care if the meat or any food i eat is cloned. if its not bad who cares.i dont think they have to label it if there is no difference healthwise.not putting on the sign would just make it be able to be sold. once people find they have been eating cloned foods they will realize its no different. i really have no problem with cloned food even if it isnt labeled HEeeeeeeeeeelmannnnns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that eating food from cloned animals is alright. There's no real problem with eating cloned animals, as long as the FDA says that it's completely safe. It should be just like the original animal, making it completely harmless. I think that food that comes from cloned animals should have a label marking it's nutrition facts. It's not needed to write that it came from a cloned animal though, so it could just be treated like a regular meat product that you'll buy. It doesn't really matter if the animal is cloned and you're eating cloned animal meat. It's still the same meat and you'll eventually need to eat it in your life, unless you choose to be a vegan, which is fine. Here's my link:

I don't really seea problem with eating cloned foods. I don't think that cloned food should be labled. I don't think people would notice the difference. It's not like it's cruel to animals or anything. (seeing as we raise animals to kill and eat)

1. Do you think that eating food from cloned animals and plants is good or bad?
2. Do you think that food made from cloned animals and plants should carry a label to identify its content in that food?
3. Include a link that suppoprts your opinion.

I think that eating food from cloned animals and plants is bad. I believe this because there could be a long term effect with eating cloned food. I think people should stick to normal foods and not eat something that was made in a labratory.
If food is made from cloned animals or plants it should have a label saying that it is cloned. Some people may not want to eat animals that weren't made naturally. I know I would NEVER eat cloned food. GROSS.

I think that eating food from cloned plants and animals is perfectly fine. To clone these animals in the first place, they'll do quality control as they do regularly for all food, to make sure the animal is fine so there should be no worry about getting sick from clones.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I personally could care less if it said whether it was a clone or not, but I think that food will be labeled with that for those who are skeptic about cloned animals and plants. I think that
if food has these labels, that 'normal' food prices will shoot up because many will probably go for it over cloned food.
I don't feel there is any problem with cloned food. It is good for the human race and for the animal kingdom too. With colened food, we can make copies of extinct species if we have an egg and DNA. Endangered animals can be cloned and released into the wild and that woul dmake there population grow. This will make the liberal and ecofriendy people happy with this idea. For the benifets to humans, we could cloned so much food that food prices could go down and starvation would take a serius hit. This way the growing population can stil be feed and we can keep the pack animals (cows, goat, pig) alive and not in danger of food running out. This would make everyoen happy because rich people could save money by buying the cheaper cloned food, or buy the more expensive, not cloned food. As for the health issue, i don't think it would be unhealthy or less healthy to eat cloned food. There shouldn't be a big difference in the food. For labeling, there should be labeling. People should know that they are eating cloned food. I don't think many people would care that much about the cloned food. And also for the animals if you have a big, full of meat cow that is good for butchering, then you can clone it and those cows will be just as big and then you won't need to use special vitamins that can be unhealthy to make the cows grow to an extremely un healthy size. Also chemicals wouldn't be in the cow as much because of the cows bigger genetic size so companies don't need to supersize the cows. I think fast food companies will start using cloned animal meat becasue then they can make more of a profit on the meat when prices go down on the price of the meat.
I think that eating cloned food isnt't bad. I think as long as it has the same nutrients and vitamins then it will be perfectly heathy to eat. If you do have a problem with it then simply pick the natural meats and go on with your life.
However i do think that they should label the products because there is always a group of people that want to know if the chicken they are eating is real or cloned, so to make everyone happy i think that they shoudl put a label.
about McyD's fake food lol
Hey look, I just eat the food my mom puts in front of me. I don't see any problems with eating cloned animal meats. I think that it should be able to be sold, but it should be labeled. Then the people who don't care can eat it and the people who think it's a bad thing can just not buy it.
This web site shows how the cloned foods are going to be sold within the next year.
Ok..i basically agree w. alex and miss lechase on the fact that eating cloned food is perfectly normal. It has all the characteristics of the animal/plant cloned..,just as long as the clonee(:]) is healthy and in good shape. If the animal being cloned had a disease or something and it was cloned..it would cause a large problem.
So i think that if cloning is to take place, as I said before, the animal or plant being copied should be in top shape.
As far as the labeling situation goes, I think the packages of cloned products should definately have specific labeling on it specifying the origins of the product.
im sorry but im kind of creeped out by the idea of eating cloned animals. im not sure why but it kind of scares me. but you know on the other hand an animal is an animal no matter what, right? still for those of us who are a bit wierded out by the idea of eating that has been cloned, i think they should label packages of foods that have been cloned so we can avoid them and get the natural animal. maybe thats just me idk
In my opinion, eating from cloned animals is no different than eating from regular animals. As long as they are not sick, do not carry any diseases, and are not harmful to the consumer, than they should be fine. All the tests as far as safety goes have been fine, so there is basically no difference between the regular and the cloned.
-----------------------------
As far as labeling goes, no, because all experiments have proved that there is no differences between the clones and the regular animals. Will people really care about the fact that they are eating an animal that’s close enough to normal? If they do, they can go to an organic store. But besides this, there is really no point in labeling them, however it wouldn’t hurt to… unless of course they decide to make the “regular” meat more expensive than the cloned meat.
------------------------------
"Cloned won't be on food labels"
So basically... eating cloned animals is fine as long as they're healthy, and it wouldn't hurt to label them.
i don't think that eating cloned animals or plants is that big of a deal. at first it might not be easy accepting it though. but on the label of the package it should say whether or not that it is cloned because some people may be against it.
I think that eating meat or food from a cloned animal I wrong. It sounds gross to eat from something that wasn’t just born naturally. Food should definitely have a label because labels are required on everything else, and consumers may think differently about food if it’s cloned. Here’s a link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/gall/0,8542,627251,00.html The 7th picture down includes a description in which scientists think better quality foods will result from clones.
Yea, so i think that like people should have the choose. If they want to eat cloned animals they can. If they don't want to then they dont have to. End of story!
1. Do you think that eating food from cloned animals and plants is good or bad?
2. Do you think that food made from cloned animals and plants should carry a label to identify its content in that food?
I think eaqting cloned animals is bad because something could go wrong as always and you could roll over and die. Cloned sheep dont sound good to me cause why can't the sheep naturally reproduce? That os what I do not understand. like AO said, CLONED ANIMAL MEATS! Doen't sound yummy.
But if they are going to clone everything I would want to know that I was buying cloned meat beacuase I dont want to eat that stuff. I rather have natural meat so Yes, Give me a choice. Thanks.
http://www.newstarget.com/020784.html
This shows them being cruel to the animals they clone and that's awful as well. Ew.
I think that eating cloned food is fine as long as my beef doesnt taste like chicken or my fruits dont taste like cheese.
I do think that cloned food should carry a label so people who dont believ in eating cloned food dont have to eat it if they dont want to.
