Building Green
In Brooklyn, they are beginning construction on the first house to be approved by the American Lung Association. This "Health House", located on 93 Nevins Street and 453 Pacific Street in Brooklyn, is the reconstruction of an old 1920s brick laundromat, deli, pharmacy, and townhouses. The building was considered a virtual hazard in it's original state because of it's unhealthy conditions of living and it's possible harm to the environment. This green building is being reconstructed from eco-friendly materials from local sources and will have a number of green features. The related concepts of sustainable development and sustainability are integral to green building.Brooklyn House Article 1
