Hey Mr.Johnson.
I do not think that this is a good use of technology. There are so many other major problems in the world and I think that technology should be focusing on them. I do not really see the upside to cloning. I do not think that it is moral, however I would not say that it is immoral, just somewhere in between. I just do not see the point.No. I would not clone my pet. Although I do like my dog, seeing another one, exactly the same would just be weird. I think that a negative effect of cloning could be that the cloned thing may have a defect that could hurt it or put it in some type of pain. Scientists may also clone things and use the cloned thing for tests which is wrong as well. ok...so I really don't know what i think of this... its a bit odd if you ask me, to clone someone, or pretty much bring a pet back from life...ish. I think it is a good use of technology, i guess, because some people are extremely attached to their animals, and they don't really have anything else in their lives...its good to know you can always have someone/thing to be with. It must be comforting to those who don't have anyone but their pets in their lives. I'm with maggie on this one...i think its somewhere between moral and immoral. I don't think its ethical...its just weird to recreate something exactly. I would not use this. I have two dogs, and i love them and stuff...but i wouldnt want to bring them back so they could die again and i could be upset again. Plus, if i really wanted another dog, i would buy a new one, and not spend so much money. One negative of this process is that people spend so much money to get a pet...their money could be going to so many other good causes, and to other people who do not have money or houses or clothing. Its wrong to be so selfish using money on dogs instead of people who need money. I chose this website because in the beginning it deals with money and the costs of cloning. It also talks about the first cloned cat..."CC" It goes on to ask questions about the company and process.
 

1.You can revive endngered species and clone body parts for medical uses.
2.Yes it is moral and ethical as long as there isn't suffering.
3.Yes, if my pet died it would be good to have another one that resembles it. Although it would be slightly different it would at least have the same blood as my pet. I would probably consider it an offspring rather than the original pet.
4.People would feel better to have their pet back in a way. the price is very costly though and would ba a waste of money.
5.I chose it because it first explains what a clone is before getting int othe details and it have a lot of articles.
 

this is a good moral use of technology as long as they dont clone humans. this is moral and ethical within the limits of not recreating humans i would use this technology to recreate one of my pets. i would want to because losing that pet would be devastating. this type of cloning allows people to be able to keep their pets for forever. No, i really don't think that this is a good use of technology. of course it's really cool, but honestly...if anybody is so attatched to their pet that they would actually pay thousands of dollars to clone it, that's kind of weird. i don't think it's moral or ethical, because there's no point to cloning an animal that you could just as easily find another one in a petstore. one negative use is that its used for sensless things like cloning pets. i cant think of a positive thing. okay so my site talks about whether animal cloning is ethical or not.
 

1- No because we could be doing much more productive things wiht our level of technology rather than cloning animals.
2-Sure Why not.
3-it could end a shortage of food because you could clone an animal and it would be one more to eat(not by me =)) i guess.

I think cloning is a waste of time. I think it's creepy and a waste of time when we could be using said technology for other purposes.

I so would not clone the crayfish. That thing is gross! As for my 2 doggies, I don't think so. I'd rather leave it as remembering them for who they were to me and what they meant to me. [[New puppy in 4 weeks! yay!!]]

I think a negative of cloning is that the clone most likely won't be exactly as the original was. They will have a different personality and way of living.

My website talks abouts a plethora of things. It goes over organ cloning, risks of cloning and questions whether or not human's should be cloned. I pick it cause it was useful and full of data on the subject.

This is not moral or ethical because if it is illegal to clone humans than it should be illegal to clone pets. no, i would not use this technology to clone my pet. I would not because if everyone does than there will be to many animals. I also would not clone my pet because it would be weird to have two identical pets. one positive effect of cloning a pet is if scientists use the animal for tests and research.
I chose my site because it talks about cloning extinct animals which can also be a positive effect.
 

I don't think it is a good use of technology. I think it would be wierd to see your dog alive again, even though this new dog would have a new memory and different personality. Technology should be focusing on more important things in the world like a cure for cancer, especially since our technology is so advanced. I don't think its moral, but that its somewhere in the middle between moral and not moral. There is no point in cloning your dead pet so that you can have a completely new pet that looks exactly the same as the other one, even though it is very different. It would have none of the same memories as the old dead pet so there is no point for it other than for personal reasons. I don't think I would use technology to clone my pet. It would be extremely wierd to see him/her again. Though it would be nice to see it again, it would be creepy. The negative thing to this type of cloning is that the newly cloned animal could have some mental defects that could affect the people around it. It could also be deformed which would cause it pain throughout its whole life.

I dont have a pet and i probably wouldnt clone it because of my beliefs(see the first two sentences).It just seems weird to clone something wether it a single celled organism or a human. The only positive side of cloning would be to save endangered species.

I think this is a waste of technology because I don't see the good coming out of this. Why are we cloning pets when there are homeless ones at a shelter or pound?! I guess its moral and no i don't think its ethical. I don't know if I'd use this technology to clone my pet. My dog is awesome but idk..... I think this cloning is just a waste of time and lessens the chance of other pets getting owners and stuff like that. eh click if u want if u don't psh like i care This site talks about the pros and cons of cloning. I like it because it gives both sides of the cloning situation and gives people their own right to believe if cloning is the right thing or not

I absolutely do not think this is a good use of technology, whatsoever. It simply wastes people energy and money to bring back Fluffy for some old rich lady instead of using that time and money to fix some real problems in the world. I definetely believe this is 100% immoral and unethical and we should not have the power to create life. Obviously, i would not use this technology to bring back a pet. First of all, it would be incredibly WIERD, and it would cost a ridiculous amount of money. On top of that, it would be highly unethical to me. One positive effect of this cloning would be that it could be used to reinstate extinct species into the environment.Here is my link to a website that i found interesting. I think cloning is good if there is a reason. If an animal is becoming extinct, that is a great time to clone it so there could be more of that animal. I don't think it is right to just clone your pet because you loved it so much because it isnt gonna be the same dog. Yeah they may look alike but they are gonna be like twins and have different personalities depending on how they were raised. So I think it is moral and ethical depending on the predicament. I never would clone my pet. This is because there is so many other animals out there that really need a home and could be just as good or better.I chose this link because it gives an explanation to what cloning is which is something you need to know before you decide to clone something.O Yeah!!!

Finally some cloning stuff. Although a bit odd, I do think this is a good use of our technology. It is not perfectly moral or ethical, but I don't think it is totally wrong in either one.

I couldn't really say if I would use this to clone my pet. I've never really had a significant pet. All of them died/bit me too much. But if I DID have a pet, (one that I liked a lot) then I probably would use it to clone my pet.

I can't really see any positive effects of cloning. I mean, it's great and all, but...eh. A negative effect is that some horrible thing happens and we create a monster. *Dramatic music*

1. I like to find a site no one has used yet.
2. It was the first result on google.

I think this is a good use of technology because it can help people bring back loved animals that may have passed away. If some people don’t have many friends or have lost significant others, such as family members and rely on pets to cheer them up, then I think this is a good use of technology. I do think this is moral and ethical. I mean it’s not like we are killing people or animals, we are recreating it! I don’t find anything wrong with cloning because it’s an advance in technology and it can help people become happy with their lives. Well, I don’t have a pet, but if I did and it meant a lot to me then I would go about cloning it, that is if I had the money to. I wouldn’t get my dog cloned because it would be a waist in my opinion, and plus I could buy another dog. A positive effect of cloning is that, we would be able to repopulate the earth with animals that have went into extinction and then they would help the food chain. A negative effect of cloning is that you might by accident create a disease of some sort in the process of cloning and the disease might spread to humans, and then we have a huge problem on our hands.click I chose this site because it discusses exactly what cloning is and how it’s done, and the different methods of cloning. It was pretty easy to read also.

2. i dont think this is moral and I think its unethical because there's no point. Its not helping anyone and whats wrong with owning a real animal? i dont understand....
3. No i wouldnt use this technology to clone my pet because my dog is amazing enough as he is...i dont need another one of him.
4. I can think of a negative....the clone could have a defect that could really hurt it or make it suffer from severe pain....who knows???

I think this technology is amazing and could be useful...maybe.There is really no purpose to doing it, but maybe there will be in the future. I dont know if it's ethical, but it's only a dog, so it's not that bad to me. I would never get my dog cloned, but if someone did i think it would be very interesting to see how the clone looks/acts compared to the old dog.

At first i would probably want to clone my pet, but then i would decide against it, and then think of the happy memories we had when it was alive=]

A negative use of this type of cloning would be if you used it on a pet, and it came out with problems.

Yes i do think this is a good use of technology because it is a good way for pet owners to receive a dog that looked just like the one that died.
I think it is moral because the dogs aren't being killed are harmed in anyway. Yes i would use it on my pet because i think it would be pretty cool. i would have two of the same pet. They would grow to be different and still look the same.\
A negative of cloning is it probably cost too much money.

I think that the use of technology for personal pet cloning is not good. People have been learning to cope with death since the beginning of humans and they still should. It is immoral to clone a dog because you cannot deal with the death of you pet.
It is not moral or ethical because death is a part of the circle of life. It was meant for creatures to live and die, and cloning a pet for personal reasons is not acceptable. Even if this lady needs her pet for medical reasons, she can get another dog, besides, this pet will be a baby when it is born and it will not be able to help her.
I would not clone my pet, because i will have to be strong and deal with the death of my pets. As I said above it would be immoral.
This could have a negative effect because it is unfair that we should bring this other dog to life for personal pleasure. People these days are getting greedier and greedier.

I think that this is a good use of technology but not the best use. I dont think this is moral or ethical. It depends, i would clone my pet if i was old and i was alone and i only had a dog to help me. like, blind people and stuff who have those trained dogs, i think that cloning them would be good. but i think it would just be creepy if u basically have ur dog die, and u have a backup replica of the dog. that would just be weird. a positive use would be cloning helper pets. This is an awful use of technology. The actual procedure is okay, but what comes before is unacceptable. I would never clone my pet, mainly because of al the experimentation upon test animals that have been run. The negative are the thousands of dogs that have already been mutated or killed because of failed tests. The upside is who doesn't want 2 Fidos? More money for the cloning facilities to go ahead with more tests.

Well, cloning pets is a waste of time, but its not immoral to me. The problem is that cloning won't stop there. I would not clone my pet. Waste of money it would be.
