Do I Have An Alternative?

Using C6’s blog entry as a springboard, I thought that it might be interesting to take a look at alternatives to traditional medicine. We call them superstitions, old wives tales, alternative medicine, folk cures, herbal remedies, and experimental drugs. These “cures” may come in the form of foods, charms, or applications on our skin. We swear by some, and laugh at others. They can be holistic in their approach or traditions imported and incorporated from other cultures. Some have a foundation in fact, others are pure fiction. Some are “old as dirt” others a “new age rage.”
Do they work?
Some do. In fact some have gained entry into the American Medical Association and are presently being regulated by the FDA as acceptable therapies’ and treatments’.
Below are three links to news sites. They are, respectively, a photo essay; an article on an alternative treatment; and a video.
Leech Therapy
Medical Maggots
Fertility Acupuncture

3. Link to a site that supports or "bursts the myth" of that alternative treatment, and give a brief explanation of the information that is on the site.
4. Take the poll below.
