There are several terms for cells produced by meiosis. They could be called, gametes or sex cells. In males, sperm is the gamete produced by meiosis. In females, eggs, also referred to as ovum, or ova, are the gametes produced.

Prokaryotic cells lack a membrane-bound nucleus. They have a few internal structures that can be seen under the microscope. Bacteria are prokaryotes. Eukaryotic cells on the other hand do not have a membrane-bound nucleus. Also instead of having chromosomal DNA, their genes are in a circular loop. Prokaryotic cells also have three different shapes: rod shaped, spherical, and spiral. And instead of going through replication, prokaryotes divide by binary fission.

Asexual reproduction results in two identical cells from the parent. sexual reproduction results in an organism that is simliar but no identical to the parents.

transciption is when a DNA strand strips apart to creat a strand of messenger RNA. the DNA strand then zips back togetther, the MEssenger RNA then exits the nucleus and heads to a ribosome .

Three layers formed during the differentiation stage are the mesoderm, ectoderm, and endoderm. The mesoderm eventually gives rise to bone and muscle, the ectoderm forms skin and the nervous system, and the endoderm forms the digestive system.

embryos of men and woman have simmilar body parts. i is the effect of genes, the Y chromosome and testorone that brings about the changes from a male to a female. because nipples are there before this process this they stay.

The offspring will only be affected by a mutation if the parent's DNA has that mutation. It will not inherit a mutation that occured because of the environment (skin cancer) unless the mutation occured within the DNA. It occurs when the offspring is produced.

Meiosis is the part of the process of gamete formation, consisting of chromosome conjugation and two cell divisions, in the course of which the diploid chromosome number becomes reduced to the haploid.

Okay pamm did not ask any questions after her blog response so i am going to answer one of my own questions and make up another.
my question is what is the difference between a diploid and haploid cell because i always get those mixed up, and are there any synonyms for those words.
This site tells me that a haploid is the number of chromosomes in a gamete and can also be referred to as monoploid when talking about humans. Diploid are the full number of chromosomes in an organisms cells. Now i will hopefully remember those terms.
My question is why do human brain cells carry out different jobs that muscle cells, and how do they know what jobs to carry out?
