Friend or Foe ?
Cell phones seem to have changed the way we communicate with others, and the way we live our lives. They function as electronic leashes and nine-one-one safety devices. We use then to “keep in touch” with family and remain connected to "old friends."
We text as an alternative to talk, and talk as an alternative to being alone. Cell phone usage and the associated increased radiation risk has been credited with, and debated as, causing brain tumors or salivary gland cancer. It has also been blamed for low motility of sperm and behavioral problems in children whose mothers used the cell phone while pregnant.
No conclusive proof has yet to be established, nor has a clear connection been made between cell phone radiation and any negative effect on the human body.
