The new research of these cells has not changed my opinion about stem cell use . I still think that stem cell research is great as long as it is conducted respectfully and with moderation . I would not be willing to donate to this organization or this type of research YET . There has not been enough research or tests done to convince me that this could be a better idea than actual stem cell research with real stem cells . I cannot say whether I would have a transplant done with these cells yet , because I don't know what I would do in that situation , especially if it was between life or death . I think more experiments and research needs to be conducted using this method before people completely rule out stem cell research for good .
 

This article has not changed my opinion, juts made it stronger. I think that even though it is okay to have stem cells the way that we have them now, this way is even better because nobody can say that you are killing a human being. I would be able to contribute to this type of research because it would not be dangerous to me and it could help to save a life or make one better. I read last week that stem cells can even help repair tendons torn by athletes, and if something like that happened to me I would be relieved if I could have help to heal much faster.
 

My opinion on stem cell reserch was that it is ethical and okay to reserch. However, an alternative may be better. It would stop the controversy it has coused with harming embryos. I would be willing to donate or borrow. This way seems safer and more moral.
 

The new research is a great alternative to original stem cell research. I still think that any fetus that would be discarded from in-vitro fertilization should be used for stem cell research, though; this way, the stem cells are not being discarded, and a compromise is reached for people who are for the original stem cell research and others who are against it. However, I think the primary source of stem cells should be iPS cells. Knowing that this type of research is possible, I would gladly contribute cells to it.
 

My opinion has not changed. I still feel that stem cell research is great as long as there are strict limits on it. I don't think i would donate to this yet. It seems they are still unsure about the research and how it can be used. Maybe if they had more experiments run and more available information I would be more willing to donate. I don't think i would have a transplant using these cells because it is so experimental right now and they're not exactly sure it would work. I wouldn't want to spend money and deal with the risks of surgery unless it was at least 90% sure it would work.
 

I think this new research is really interesting. My opinion on stem cell research remains the same, it is perfectly ethical and scientists using embryos is understandable. It might even be easier to use, especially without all the controversey. If this new type of stem cells is successful, we might even be able to switch to iPS cells and abandon embryonic stem cell research. "Researchers have identified the genes needed to turn back the clock in a cell and make it act like one of those baby cells, and several teams found a way last year to do it -- calling the result iPS cells." I think that this procedure will save many lives and help many disabled people function properly again.
 

This article has changed mt opinion about stem cells. I approve of the using of stems cells now because they no longer kill the embryo. I would now even consider donating to help other people.
 

I still feel that stem cell research is okay under two conditions. That is making sure that it is done in moderation, as well as trying to find a way to do it without killing the embryo in the process. Therefore my opinion was ot changed after reading this article. If anything it made me believe that stem cell research is taking off, and beginning to really work. This article prooves that stem cell research is being put to good use. I would donate to this organization because i would be helping people as well as allowing the organization to research further. I dont think i would borrow from the organization though. This is because it is a brand new idea, and i think it needs more experiments, statistics, and facts carried through before i would consider participating directly. However this is just what i would do now. I am not in the situation, so depending on the circumstances, and severity of my condition my choices may vary. Overall however , i think its a good idea that needs to be explored a little more.

I feel the use of skin cells is a less controversial response to stem cell use. Even though I believe the use of embryos and stem cells is okay,and this didn't change my opinion of that, others disagree. I feel this is a good solution. Using skin cells to grow organ tissue seems like a good alternative to the contreversial stem cell debate. I would be willing to donate to the library because it could help saves lives. I would borrow from this library if I needed help.
 

this article made me love stem cell research even more! i think it is great that scientists are being innovative and looking for new ways to make cells. i would contribute to this research because it could save lives and it is acceptable to most everyone (no religious or moral discrimination). i think i would be willing to have a transplant done with these cells.
 

This article was interesting, yet I have always been confident that such technologies would be developed. While this method does not appear to be a full substitute for embryonic stem cells, it is an important step forward in advancing stem-cell-alternative technology. I hope that their experiment will be a success and that it will yield future discoveries. The day when iPS cells replace embryonic stem cells is the day that the stem cell controversy comes to a quick, decisive close.
 

My opinion has remained the same because I always approved of stem cell research. My opinion is stronger because the embryo cells are no longer killed. But even though it used to kill the embryo cell, it was helping more people than it was hurting.
 

I really do not like the idea of stem cell research. I like the concept, I just do not like how they get the cells. Using the iPS cells seems like a better choice for me than using an actual embryonic cell. I believe that more time and research needs to be done to truly see what these iPS cells can do. Knowing that scientist are working on new different methods of stem cells makes me really happy.
 

I still agree with my opinion. I am a strong beleiver in stem cell research. The good news is that the embryos wont be harmed with this new research. I would deffinitely donate and help if I could, this would save A LOT of people
 

This has not changed my opinion. I still think that more research should be done in order to not use embryos. This just strengthens what I believe because now they have actually found a way to not use embryos. I would definetly donate because then embryos would not have to be used.
 

First off, congratulations for the new scientific breakthrough. I think that this discovery should put new hope in the eyes of ill patients and relief for those who are strongly against using embryonic stem cells. Perhaps one day it’ll terminate the controversy. It doesn’t exactly change my opinion towards stem cell research. I still believe in the embryonic stem cell research, but if iPS cells actually work, then I prefer the new technique.
 

This doesn't change my opinion about stem cell research because I support stem cell research and this only makes my case stronger. I would definately donate to this library. Also, although I hope never to have to, I'd borrow from this library. It is totally safe and doesn't seem painfu;l at all. I'm glad they came out with this because now, people have changed their opinions about stem cell research due to other origins other than fetises.
 

This new research may change my opinion about stem cells. If IPS cells are effective, this will be a great achievement in the medical world. I cannot however, fully support this organization just yet, seeing that there is still a lot of research yet to be done. I was first against stem cells mainly because of their use of embryos, but idf this technique works, then I don't think that I will have anything to say against it.
 

This article has not changed my views on stem cell research because I was not against stem cell research before. However, if they can expand on this to the point that they no longer need to use embryo cells at all, that would be great. It would also make it less controversial and more likely to be accepted by people. It would be great if they could cure all kinds of diseases using these cells. I would be willing to donate to or "borrow" from this library. If they could come up with a cure for type 1 diabetes using these cells, I would definately accept it!!
 

This article has not changed my opinion. I agree that this article has many more ideas of creating stem cells from different cells. But I still think researching with humans embryo is still fine due to its not a child yet. Well that can be debatable anyways.
 

This article hasnt changed any of my ideas about stem cell research. I think that the stem cell research is still a great way of figuring out cures to a disease. Not only is it a good way its one of the only very good ways to find cures in my opinion. I would not be willing to donate because I think that it needs to be more established but once it gets more of a backbone so to speak I would absolutley be up to donating.
 

The article was very impressive! I still feel that it is okay as long as nothing or no one gets hurt.I can't be totally sure that this looks promising. As for donating, I am not sure if I would feel comfortable with it. I would donate if no one is harmed and it doesn't affect me in a bad way. I am still a little iffy with the stem cell research..
 

I still support stem-cell research. Although I find this new alternative to be much more promising. More people will support it because we aren't harming anything. Unlike embryonic stem cells, in which we kill the organism, this doesn't seem to pose any threat. It also cures many diseases like sclerosis. If I ever needed a stem cell, I wouldn't mind this treatment.
 

I still think that stem cells are a good thing if used for good reasons. I think i would donate to this organization because it could save many peoples’ lives. If i had to, i would borrow too. I’d rather do this than die knowing there was basically a cure out there.
