Im pretty sure I would never consider choosing any of these traits for my child. But if you think about it, being able to know that your kid wouldnt have cancer, or diabetes and being able to stop it. I think that would be cool.

Some good traits I would choose for the baby would be smart, respectful and caring and also athletic. Making the baby good at everything would ruin its chances for learning to make mistakes, not getting the full aspect of life.

It would definetly ruin sports, competition, anything.. you name it. Having someone good at everything would be unfair to everyone else. They would never know the meaning to life.
 

No!!! I find this to be unethical. Children should be the way that they are because of thier parents genes. This could also lead to discrimination against the kid that is customized if people knew that they were. I don't think something like this would end well.

I do not like the idea of creating your ideal baby and I would not pick the traits of my baby. There is no surprise, because you have created them they you want them to be, and to me that is boring.

Three traits that are good are removing any bad disease that my be inherited. Making the baby would be the most important thing to me. Choosing sex, eye and hair color are not as important. Making the baby very intelligent or well at sports would not be ethical because you should work for those aspects and not handed to you.

I believe that having the power to choose your ideal baby will change things in future. All parents want the best for child and will make them best by any means, even by creating them in a laboratory. Making a child born with a gift is fine, but purposely giving them that gift and them not having to work is not how things should be. People need to slow down and think about what they are doing before the go and do it.

The traits that would be good choices are being healthy,smart, and respectful. Ones that would be unethical are hair color and eye color because that shouldn't matter in a person. I.Q. and athletism are unethical because they should have to work for those things and they would have an unfair advantage against people.
This will change the future of sports because it would lead to even more drug use because people would have to do even more to compete who are genetically made to be athletic. It will also change education because the "designed" babies will not really have to learn how to to work for something. Employment will affect the many people who are designed perfectly and they will have a hard time finding a job.

Yes, I do think this will change the compition because children that are born with perfect iq's will be more likily to be hired for jobs. Children that were born perfect will also be more athletic making them more likely to be drafter or 'picked'. And children born perfect will also be more likey to make more money and produce kids just like themselves.

All of the best players in sports of endurence, coordination and wit will be of genitic engeenering. No! I used to think if you can alter traits having to do with diseases that would be fine because it will help the baby. However, if everyone does it, there will not be any genetic alterations between people. However, picking out eye color and such is completly NOT ethical. Most people cannot afford this procedure and those who do I personally think there is more important things they should be doing with their money. Donate to a food bank or something.

Three good traits to choose would be a nice personality, have then "disease" free, and be healthy and with good judgement.

Some unethnical traits would be their looks, such as hair color, eye color, or height. I think it is important to just love the baby no matter what. A baby is supposed to be God's gift, and we shouldn't abuse or take advantage of that.

I think customizing babies would definatly change sports, education, and employment. In a way it will be unfair because allthe customized babies did not earn their sucess, their parents designed it. I really hope that customizing babies does not get to out of hand.

I would not choose the traits of my child. I think that it is wrong because it is not natural. Also, by deciding what traits my child will have, I will be killing off other human embryos that will not grow into human beings. Finally, choosing traits of a child will make him or her more of an item and less of an actual human. I do not think that this is an ethical practice because of it not being natural. 2)I think it is more unethical because many people wont use this for the better of all of mankind. They just want there kid to be the best on the football team.

Yes this would effect those things because the people who were born the more natural and ethical way would have a struggle of suceeding when they are going up against "perfect" people. Employers would choose the best of the best, and when you perfect, I guess that person would be chosen. The idea of hard work, practice, and skill would be lost.
