The holidays are a great time for families to get together and eat delicious food. But many people become to caught up in the comercial side of the holidays rather then their true meaning. The holidays can be crazy and sometimes overwhelming for many people. But in reality holidays such as Thanksgiving is not about presents, but about being thankful for all that you have. Holidays can bring out the best and worst in people. Many families choose to spend the holidays with their family, while others decide to go on vacation. So, whats Thanksgiving about? The food, you say? The family, you suggest? Or just no school? Well, I can tell you all of those things are great, but thats not really the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Giving thanks is a big part of it and you might just say "Thats easy! We can put two and two together!", but it really is being forgotten these days; the reason for this great holiday.

Everyone loves Thanksgiving. It’s a time of family, fun and lots of good food. But have we lost the true meaning of what the holiday truly is and what it means? It is a time when families get together and feast on delicious food, but why do we celebrate it in the first place? Thanksgiving is a time to be especially thankful for the things we take for granted everyday, the little things (and big) the other people in the world are living without. We stop for once and look at how extremely lucky we are instead of looking at the bad things in life. Everyone out there has something to be thankful for, even those with far less then we have. This website has the story of the first Thanksgiving along with the history and evolution of it (and some tasty turkey recipes :P)

I love thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite holidays. I love the turkey dinner. Family comes over that I haven't seen in a while. I have a lot of fun. But people forget the true meaning of thanksgiving. We should be thankful for everything we have. I think that people forget that.

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is the best time of the year to think about what your thankful for and to be with your family. The food is always amazing and it's jsut a tradtional holiday for just about everyone. I LOVE THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is that holiday between Halloween and Christmas, the two most "spend your money the most" holidays. Thanksgiving is the best time to sit around the table and catch up with the relatives and share a good laugh. We should be thankful for all we have on this day and not worrying about what time to get up for black friday. Thanksgiving is the best for EATING and sharing memories, I can't wait!

Thanksgiving is that time of the year when familes come together and appreciate all that they have. Traditionally my Thanksgiving have been spent not only being thankful for all that my family has, but by trying to help others who are less fortunate. My family usually tries to volunteer at soup kitchens and donate food to pantries. Also, as you've probably guessed, my family only buys a free-range organic turkey. The actual preparation of the food is a long process, but it's fun because everyone in the family joins in and helps. Thanksgiving is really a family holiday and a great time to come together, share a laugh and a memory or two. Hope all Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!

I sincerely enjoyed every one of those videos, especially the first "I Will Survive" parody, and the one by Adam Sandler; except Ithink the latter was missing some portions... lol(: Thanksgiving is a great holiday where you can have a great time with your family, watch football, and eat til you can't walk, and not feel so terrible about it. In my house, every one of the kids, five in all, has to make some aspect to contribute to the meal. It's fun because you can learn to make new things, feel pride as everyone enjoys your dish, and it alleviates some of the work/stress that my mom has to contend with, because she has to cook the whole meal as it is. Everyone's got fun and quirky traditions that define them as a family, and holidays like Thanksgiving help to make them; gotta love it ! =D
